Systems Technician

Location: London & South

Salary: £35-40k

We’re working with a specialist technical company delivering innovative experiences across museums, visitor attractions, entertainment venues, brand environments, and other major live events.

They’re looking for a Systems Technician to join their service team, keeping the technology behind these experiences running reliably across a varied portfolio of projects.

It’s a hands-on role with plenty of variety, from planned maintenance and system testing to fault-finding, diagnostics, and remote support. Around 75% of the work is proactive, with the remaining 25% focused on responding to issues as they arise.

The role is primarily based across London and the South, with regular site visits and occasional travel further afield. You’ll work directly with clients as well as the wider service and engineering teams, so technical ability and clear communication are equally important.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Troubleshooting faults across AV, control, networking, and associated systems
  • Carrying out planned maintenance, testing, backups, firmware updates, and configuration changes
  • Providing first- and second-line remote technical support
  • Working from technical drawings, schematics, rack layouts, and network diagrams
  • Supporting installations, rack builds, cable management, mounting, and terminations
  • Completing service reports and maintaining technical documentation

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience across AV, control, networking, or electronics
  • Experience with Q-SYS or similar control, DSP, infrastructure, or networked systems
  • Good understanding of signal flow and device configuration
  • Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with clients and technical teams
  • Curious, adaptable, and able to work independently

Experience in live events, theatre, live music, AV, or a similar technical environment would be beneficial.

A full UK driving licence is required. CSCS/ECS, IPAF or PASMA certification would be advantageous.

Benefits include flexibility around working arrangements, a company van, travel and accommodation expenses, and additional compensation for out-of-hours support.

There is also scope to develop towards senior technical or specialist engineering roles as the business continues to grow.

If you’re an experienced hands-on technician looking for a varied role across service, AV systems, infrastructure, and immersive experiences, it would be great to hear from you.
